Wee Nip FREE downloadable plan

Wee Nip imageIn conjunction with the new VW504 Strathclyde 70 video, you too can build the Wee Nip sailing yacht.

The Strathclyde University sponsored Modellers Competition, which encourages school pupils to design and sail a Radio Controlled equipped model yacht, has now become firmly established in Scotland.

As a result of a visit to present the prizes, noted designer Graham Bantock decided to design a boat of his own, from that beginning the Wee Nip project has developed.

Marine Modelling International magazine has linked together the build of the prototypes, the two page plans, the 'how to build and sail' video, and also this free 'downloadable' plan. These plans contain all parts at fullsize for easy cutting out and assembly, including the all important sail which is built up from draughting film stuck together with double sided tape.

The video features John Stone, who built the prototype models and, based on this practical experience, offers newcomers lots of hints and tips to make life easy. John takes you through all stages of construction and then goes on to show you how to set the boat up for top performance.
